This cluster of several, aesthetic, lustrous, translucent, colorless calcite crystals to 4 cm in length is cemented together by thin copper plates (the green is due to oxidation patina on the copper). There are also many smaller calcites present that exhibit copper inclusions. This is a rue Copper Country classic, and they are usually very expensive. The crystals are large, and the piece is dramatic. It is priced down for some relatively minor wear and damage to the edges, but overall it displays much more nicely and impactfully than the price would indicate, and if perfect would anyhow be a $7500-10k specimen with the premiums put on these freestanding gem calcites from Michigan in the market today
