Copper (Spinel-twinned)
Bright, untarnished, elongated spinel twins of copper to 9 cm in length, exhibit parallel growth. Note the dramatic twinned flanges on the piece. It is twined all around, and a floater with no point of contact. This is a now-infamous style which came out from a single erratic boulder of nearly pure copper that was found at this mine by collector Stan Esbenshade on July 1 in 2001 on the 5100 Bench. We bought many from the lot at this time and sold this fine small cabinet specimen into a private collection, from which it has now resurfaced over a decade later.
