Stilbite-Ca and Fluorapophyllite-(K)

This is a big, five inch bowtie of Stilbite with a few blocky Apophyllite crystals for accent from Nasik, India. The light salmon-pink bow tie has the classic tapered waist that flares out on either end into fan-shaped terminations. The Stilbite bowtie is largely two-dimensional, but is about an inch thick and has good luster and translucence. There are several other 1 to 3 cm Stilbite crystals at either end off to the side that are growing in combination with a few, blocky, translucent, pale green Apophyllite crystals to 2 cm. This big, beautiful Stilbite piece can either be displayed vertically or flat! Rock Currier bought the specimen from Helen Schnider in New York City in 1971.
