Wavellite
Uncommon style showing discrete individual Wavelite spheres across a sparkling layer of microcrystalline Calcite on gray matrix. Wavellite is usually seen forming as intergrown globual aggregates but this contrasting form of isolated botryoids, up to 1.2 cm across, results in a dramatic and refined display. The translucent, rich colored lime-green Wavellite balls are made up of hundreds of glassy microcrystalline faces giving it a nice flash under lighting. The spheres are almost all complete and unbroken with only a small amount of edge wear to the globular patch on the lower right. These two broken spheres show the radial acicular Wavellite growth. A notable specimen given its unique isolation appearance and great quality that helps to showcase the glistening perfect circular spheres of Wavellite. A difficult style to find.
