These fine Calcites are intergrown 'en echelon', which is a classic and quickly recognizable style for Tsumeb. The rhombs, which range up to 1.6 cm on edge, are gemmy, sharply formed, and they all have superb luster. They rest on a Duftite-coated matrix, which adds a nice contrast to the piece. As expected, there is a small amount of edge wear with a few dings, but there is surprisingly minimal contacting. These detract little from the bright (hence, hard to photograph) and glassy aesthetics. The architectural qualities, as well as the mineral qualities, are quite good. Adding to the allure of this small cab is the razor-sharp zoning only noticeable under fluorescent light. You do see this occasionally, but rarely this distinct. Both the overall piece, as well as the fluorescence, are even better in person. CLASSIC TSUMEB STYLE!
