An unusual specimen consisting of a cluster of ghostly white, twisting stalactites of calcite on matrix. Note that the matrix association is unusual if you think about it as most similar specimens (from Yunnan in the South of China) are on aragonite or massive calcite. This is an unusual rocky matrix, as well, which helps indicate it is from somewhere other than the usual place for calcite stalactites in China - no surprise given the size and richness of China. It comes, I was told in China, from a small find in Henan Province as indicated here.
