Unusual and elegant in its own way, this elongated cluster of Acanthite spirals up and draws the eye, very different than the usual blocky or cubic material for the species. It is from the prodigious, ancient silver mines of Zacatecas. The gunmetal, silvery-black crystals have very good luster, and they can reach over 1.5 cm in size, combined to form a large "stalactitic" growth. A presentation like this for acanthite is uncommon in large size, to say the least.
