This doubly-terminated, lustrous and translucent emerald crystal, also exhibits a rich, deep green color. This is a shockingly good thumbnail gem crystal specimen from what is surely the most classic of old Emerald locations in Europe. Most of the production we see today is frankly just "rock," not very beautiful nor very well formed. This sharp, dominant crystal is an exceptional specimen for any European or gem thumbnail suite. Surely, an old piece, as well. It is one of only a handful of examples of Austrian emeralds that I ever thought could hold its own with others, and makes for a fine display piece.
