An aesthetic sliver of a specimen of translucent, matte-finish, pastel-green calcite scalenohedrons on nicely contrasting dark brown matrix from a very uncommon Utah locality. The green color is caused by vanadium. A couple of broken scalenohedrons are certainly not detracting.. these are almost impossible to obtain and this is an old specimen from the MARTIN ZINN III Collection - accidentally got in the wrong pile here and ended up in the auctions, and labeled as the wrong collection previously (Hauck). It is from a small lot I obtained from the Zinn collection, though 5.7 x 2.8 x 2.3 cm
