Two large Benitoite crystals are attractively placed on this full-sized and dramatic thumbnail from the type locality in California. The blue, triangular-shaped crystals are perched on a small piece of light green Serpentine matrix with just a touch of white Natrolite for accent. The two Benitoites measure 1.7 and 1.6 cm across respectively. One of the crystals displays more prominently than the other and has a thick, translucent, "Benitoite-blue" rim with a small, whitish-blue center. Only the thick, blue rim of the other crystal is exposed and the two are just slightly intergrown for good display aesthetics. The piece sits perfectly for display on its own. Williams Minerals label. Surely an older specimen.
