Chalcostibite is a rare copper, antimony sulfosalt. This excellent and very showy, 3-dimensional cabinet combination piece from Cavnic, Romania features shiny, gray metallic blades and needles of chalcostibite clusters richly scattered on lustrous sphalerite crystals and associated with a rich, preferential coating of sparkly, light gray dolomite rhombs and a bit of galena. Chalcostibite was never common at Cavnic and this major discovery was made in 1990.
