This intense blue decorative specimen is from classic old Morenci material found in the 1980s by Stan Esbenshade, and it has been cut and polished to show the beautiful inter-relation of the malachite and azurite. The discrete swirls of malachite in an evenly-colored, intense blue field of azurite take this piece above the common level of material, to a new level of quality. Morenci azurite of this quality, richness, and size, was simply not commonly seen. Joe Budd photos. 1476 grams.
