Superbly formed, this is a particularly fine example of the reniform or mammaliary hematite variety kindey ore, for which these mines are so famous. It has fine luster and a deep red-rust color. Once plentiful on the market, specimens of this quality from the Cumbrian iron mines are now rarely seen for sale. Mined in the 1970's.
