Rarely found in euhedral crystals, this superb, large, native, elemental, bismuth crystal has super form, matte luster and a battleship gray color characteristic of the locale. The native bismuth seems to have filled in cracks and hollows in the rocks here, resulting in often very jumbly masses with constrained crystal form. However, here we seem to have some obvious crystal symmetry! The piece is SHARP, and has faces on all sides (though some may be contact faces, they are nevertheless faces, and complete). A small bit of molybdenite shows at the base of the specimen. The largest crystal face is 4.5 cm in length. I exchanged this from the noted native elements subcollection/suite of collector Gene Meieran.
