When it comes to Aquamarine, Pakistan is the most productive country for specimens in the modern age of mineral collecting. Some of the very finest quality Aquamarine specimens come from the various pegmatites in the Pakistani Himalayas, especially in the Shigar Valley. This crystal is a very good quality, sharp, gem quality "pencil" with good glassy luster and a soft blue color. A few accenting Muscovite crystals and one red Spessartine crystal make for a great association specimen from this world famous locality.
