Aheylite on Cassiterite

Pastel blue, translucent, spheres to .2 cm across of the very rare phosphate, aheylite, are perched on very lustrous crystals of cassiterite, to .6 cm across, along with colorless, quartz crystals. Aheylite, a hydrated, iron, aluminum, phosphate, is a member of the turquoise group. IT IS very RARE! This specimen is one of several obtained by Brian Kosnar in Bolivia many years ago, from which came the type material. These spheres are large for the species, and overall it is a pretty piece, too.
