A thin crust of iron stained dolomite is the host for a large cluster of intergrown lustrous and translucent, tan-colored calcite. In fact, this cluster which is 3.5 cm across, is almost a rolling wave of calcite, and is very dramatic and unusual. Looks like smithsonite on 1st glance. Ex. Charlie Key.
