This is a fine example of one of Mina Ojuela's visually engaging finds, the eye-catching Calcite/Aurichalcite combinations. The Calcite rhombs are gemmy and lustrous, and the turquois coloring is outstanding. The largest rhomb is about 1 cm, and the edges are so beautifully beveled that a sculptor could not have done any better. The coloration is from fibrous Aurichalcite, and on close examination it is possible to see the fibrous Aurichalcite crystals preserved inside, thus showing that this is intergrowth, as much or more so than simple inclusions. This fine, aesthetic miniature is mesmerizing, especially the closer you look. From Scott Williams, in the 1950s!
