Irai was long known for these superb, gorgeous calcites, and then the supply seemed to dry up. There were hardly any available at the Tucson show, and they were overpriced, so we bought none. Then, to our surprise, we found this wonderful cache of new specimens with one dealer at the small Spring Denver Show, and cherry-picked all the best ones. Unlike in the past where they were predominantly sharp scalenohedra, the calcites in this batch showed a variety of different forms - all of them beautiful. This was definitely one of the most unique and beautiful, a creamy, translucent "flower" perched perfectly on matrix! It stands out, quite 3-dimensionally in fact, from the crowd 9.1 x 8.1 x 5.5 cm
