Copper With Calcite
Description
A unique treelike copper specimen with "apples" made of calcite hung all over it! I first obtained this piece in the early 1990s from Rod Tyson, who himself had just gotten it in a trade from the Seaman Museum (ex. Hubbard Collection circa 1900). I sold much of my calcite collection in 2005 to buy the Ed David collection, and then had the good luck to repurchase a few pieces later on.... so I bought this back again nearly 20 years after I had first obtained it in the first place. In person, the 3-dimensionality and contrast is mesmerizing. Joe Budd photos.
