A beautiful, gemmy and lustrous, parallel-growth, rose-red tourmaline crystal with an achroite layer and a thin cap of blue, just below the termination. The termination is frosted and lightly etched. This PRISTINE beauty is from the famous Queen Mine and was SELF-COLLECTED by Ed Ruggiero on New Years Eve, 1975! The collecting history fills both sided of his 3x5 card. Hefty at 154 grams! THIS IS ONE OF THOSE FAMOUS BLUECAPS!
