Tarnowitzite is the familiar name for Plumboan (lead-rich) Aragonite. It is uncommon, with good crystals being known from under 20 localities worldwide. This hefty specimen from Morocco has well-developed crystals to 3 cm, clustered very nicely across the matrix. The cream-colored Tarnowitzites are actually two-toned, with lighter caps (a very desirable characteristic of good Tarnowitzite). The glistening luster adds greatly to the aesthetics of this fine Moroccan Tarnowitzite. Straw-yellow fluorescence. An important and rare specimen from old finds here in Morocco!
