Veszelyite
Unknown Owner
Veszelyite is a very rare and beautiful hydrated copper-zinc phosphate and this small copper mine in Montana is the best locality in the world for the species. This thumbnail is a single, arrowhead-shaped crystal with exceptional, riveting, deep blue color and good luster that is slightly translucent when backlit. Only a few small pockets were found over 25 years ago. Today, choice thumbnails like this seldom turn up for sale, only as old collections are dispersed. This is part of a small stash we hoarded away, by accident, lost in the warehouse for over a decade. From the Carlton Davis collection.
