A very large showy specimen of iridescent berthierite crystals, with a bit of attached matrix. This is a remarkable, large, and frankly quite attractive cluster for the species, which is an Iron Antimony Sulfide. I have seen many smaller ones over the years, but only a few of this stature.
Herja Mine, Romania — Baia Mare district locality famous for stibnite sprays, black calcite, semseyite rosettes, and sulfosalt-rich vugs, a collector's classic.
