The piece is a floater cluster with glassy crystals, very translucent, to 3 cm! In person, they are more translucent than they appear. Moreover, this specimen has a very rare blue color to it! This is the rarest color of apatite for the locality! It is not quite a pure blue as hints of purple predominate, but around the edges it very definitely is blue when caught in the right light - it is as close as we can get here! Calling it purple-blue would probably be fair and accurate, in any case.
