Cavansite - Wagholi Quarries, India
specimen
Cavansite
Description
An elongated spray of deep, teal blue, cavansite, which measures 4 cm across, is perched high on a matrix of white, massive stilbite. The cavansite blades are unusually well-formed here, with individual crystal edges exceeding 1 cm as they erupt from the cluster, and terminating in sharp points. This quality is NOT common for cavansite, no matter how common you may think cavansite overall to be. The cavansite is both lustrous and translucent (as individual crystals). The display side of the piece is perfect and extremely dramatic. BETTER In PERSON! There is contact on the back side, however, it does not affect the aesthetics of the piece.
