A rich and showy specimen of bright, microcrystalline and hackly gold in hydrothermal quartz from an uncommon Japanese locality - the Nakase Mine on Honshu Island. Highly representative of the species and locality. Older material from the John Ydren Collection. He obtained this from the Burton Jirgl Collection, a dealer who had spent much time in Japan after the 1940s and amassed a sizable and important reference suite, all well documented.
