A striking, sculptural, rich band of crystallized, bright yellow gold is very aesthetically set across the crystallized to massive quartz matrix on this excellent specimen from recent finds at the Round Mountain Mine of Nevada. Most of the gold is crystallized as intergrown, leaf-like, flattened octahedrons or as flat plates, but there are some spinel-twins at the ends of some of the clusters. The interesting 2.3 cm vug lined with quartz crystals is a very nice accent.
