These lustrous, partially gemmy, orange-red Stolzite crystals are visually quite attractive against the stark, grey-black matrix. The main Stolzite is 6 mm in size, with sharp form and fine, aesthetic striations, and the style characteristic of the best stolzites foudn here in the heyday of the mine (late 1800s/early 1900s). I was told they only came out of a very few pockets. The dominant Stolzite crystals are accompanied by numerous, bladed 2 mm Raspite crystals as a bonus. Included is the outstanding, hand-written antique label of W.F. Ferrier. Ex. Ferrier, McGill University collections.
