2.6 x 2.6 x 2.0 cm (Specimen); 35.73 carats; 33.61 mm x 19.86 mm (Gem) - This is a really nice set as the stone exhibits actual negative crystal faces in the back, creating sort of a reverse intaglio effect. The only difference is that instead of carving the small hexagonal "peaks" into the back of the wide "Fan" cabochon cut gem, the gem cutter simply left the impression of the preexisting crystal faces that were already present in the rough. If that's not interesting enough, the matching crystal is a gorgeous compliment to the stone as it has a very similar pale ice blue color and sharp angular faces with high luster and absolutely WATER CLEAR transparency. It's a doubly-terminated "floater" crystal with no real point of attachment, and the delicate yet geometric etching patterns on the faces give it an other worldly quality. This is a special set, impossible to replicate, and worth every penny from the standpoint of uniqueness and beauty.
