This blue Topaz crystal with textbook form originates from the Pan-Taw mines in Burma, NOT from Sakangyi where we more typically see topaz sourcing. This lovely crystal has a pleasing, light sky-blue color with well developed crystal faces that include a perfect termination. Subtle internal veiled inclusions add character to the piece along with white, platy inclusions of Muscovite just beneath the surface. There are a few tiny contact areas from what may have been Albite in the pocket and the base is a perfect cleavage trace. There is very minor micro-edge rubbing but not any major damage. Thanks to Bill Larson's attention to detail with respect to documentation, we have the exact locality of this crystal, not just a general area or an assumption. Gem blue Topaz crystals from ANYWHERE are rare and from the famous pegmatites of Pan-Taw are very rare. It has a mass of 96 grams and displays nicely on its own, as a full miniature.
