A very RARE turn-of-the-century specimen of yellow vanadinite, previously thought to be an entirely different species and given the name of "endlichite," from a classic silver mining district that in its early days produced some of these things in the upper levels. Sadly, few specimens from those days remain today, at least on the open market. I have seen only 2 other specimens of this material in the past, both thumbnails. From the miniature rarities suite of Lawrence Conklin, who exchanged it from the American Museum of Natural History, where it landed with the donation of the Clarence Bement collection around 1910 by JP Morgan.
