Beryl (Var: Emerald)

This would not be a bad emerald specimen at all for Columbia - but this one is from Afghanistan! It is translucent, and actually brighter in person (and under strong light) than it appears in the pics. Though not terminated, it is very well exposed on the quartz matrix, standing out dramatically in stark contrast. The emerald measures 2.3 cm.
