San Diego morganites are still among the prizes of any American collection, of gem beryls suites. This is a special piece; a choice miniature from the collection of the mine owner Norm Dawson (circa 1970s). It came through Cal Graeber and Irv Brown and is truly elegant and special for what it is. Aesthetically perched on albite var. cleavelandite, is a glassy and gemmy, somewhat equant, light pink morganite crystal measuring 3 cm across. It sits right up and salutes you - not buried, as so many were, in the matrix. These are incredibly rare today. A superb miniature from a famous U.S. pegmatite!
