A jewel! This specimen boasts a stunning, first-class Calcite twin, on a bed of sparkling Sphalerite, from the Denton Mine. This superb Calcite, 5.5 cm across, has great luster and a beautiful saturated amber-honey color. The zigzag twinning plane is well-defined. The Ruby Jack Sphalerites have excellent luster, as do the smaller Calcites. All the Calcites, large to small, are gemmy to translucent. The large twin has a tiny bit of very minute rubbing on it, but the overall condition is remarkably good for its size. Collected in 1992, the aesthetics of this combination piece are eye-catching. Ross Lillie's notes on the back of his label note "mined by the loading operator (first into pocket) ... great piece." RCL1363
