A classic and old-time gold specimen from historic Verespatak (Rosia Montana), Romania. Lustrous, hackly, microcrystalline gold richly covers the upper part of the 3-dimensional, granulated quartz matrix. Excellent material for a mine that was worked by the Romans. This is undoubtedly old material probably from the 1800s, but no proof. Ex. Russell Jones Collection.
