Here is an exceptional, mounded, three dimensional, full thumbnail-size Tsumeb Calcite specimen with green Duftite inclusions! The interlocking Calcite rhombs of this fascinating piece are asymmetrically zoned with respect to the Duftite, all of which exhibit phantoms to some degree. The Calcites average 1 cm in size and are transparent to translucent which reveals the geometric zoning of the Duftite within. The interior of the Calcite rhombohedrons are dominated by internal scalenohedral Calcite in which the points have been beautifully accented by a pronounced dusting of pistachio green Duftite. The rhombohedral overgrowths are ghostly transparent so the green phantoms from the Duftite are easily seen, making for a naturally artistic piece! A sublime specimen from Tsumeb, an absolute classic rarely seen for sale, especially in thumbnail size, and thought to have come out in the 1960s.
