An unusual and fine calcite specimen from Asturias, Spain. Two generations of calcite comprise this pair of modified scalenohedrons. The opaque cores on both crystals have a second generation overgrowth of lustrous, translucent, golden amber to tan calcite. The large crystal has a distinct interior phantom. The smaller calcite is very interestingly twinned. This fine calcite was collected by Spanish collector/dealer Fernandez Buelga in July 2008.
