An excellent, aesthetic, old-time specimen of highly lustrous, striated, jet-black manganite crystals richly and attractively filling a large vug atop sculptural, massive manganite matrix. The crystals reach 1.0 cm. These old pieces came out in about 1886-1888 (per Bancroft's book). The backside even has a bit of baryte. Ex. Harvard Collection.
