What makes this big galena crystal so distinctive is that a corrosive solution flowed through the pocket some time after its formation, etching the crystal into these complex stepped forms. It is beautifully isolated on a matrix that sparkles with little golden chalcopyrites -a fine natural "base" for this very unusual crystal. The galena measures over 4 cm along the edge.
