Top-notch and classic for this antique locality, this specimen is composed of lustrous, two-tone, botryoidal Malachite on drusy Calcite. The smooth, banded Malachites range in color from sea green to olive green, and a few are coated with what appears to be Chrysocolla. The color contrast is rather dramatic, and it adds much to the visuals. The largest Malachite is about 1.8 cm across. An old-timer, this is an outstanding specimen. The old parchment label in antiquated French is also interesting, and helps further date this to the 1800's.
