Cobaltoan calcites with large crystals are not easy to get, so with a batch having come out of Morocco recen we have been buying them where affordable from the various dealers to whom they were dispersed. This cluster features fine, well-defined crystals with good pyramidal terminations. Some appear to have mysterious orange scalenohedral phantoms inside - likely, an earlier generation of calcite of a different form, with a coating that gives them the orange tone. 6.0 x 3.0 x 2.6cm
