SUPERB, modified scalenohedron of Calcite from Niederrabenstein in Saxony. This golden crystal is completely gemmy, with faces that range from glassy to silky. These faces, as well as the edges, are sharp and very well-developed, with only minor edge wear. The habit is beautiful to behold, making this the best Calcite I have seen from this district. Formerly in the Falkenhorst collection, it was #1374 in Kay's collection. Old labels included and attached.
