Brilliant, silver-pink, bright metallic plates, partial crystals and granular massive native bismuth are present in this rich and hefty ore specimen from from the famous cobalt-nickel-silver mining district at Cobalt, Ontario. Calcite with anhedral grains of bismuth provide the matrix for several large, moderately well-formed, striated, bright metallic bismuth crystals that range from <1 up to 4cm! A brilliant and showy piece from the heyday of mining in this historic district that began in the early 1900's and terminated in the mid-1980s.
