This is a gorgeous and unique spinel matrix thumbnail from Bill Larson's Burma collection consisting of a gem red Spinel crystal in combination with a couple of small, highly modified, contrasting white calcite nodules. The Spinel is a really deeply saturated color of raspberry-red, 2.3 cm in length, and with complex form and interesting rounded edges. Note: the rounded edges are not from being water worn, as the Calcites within are well formed and would have been dissolved if the specimen was waterworn. It has a mass of 5.42 grams.
