An aesthetic specimen of a 3.3 cm, lustrous, striated, twinned, black cassiterite crystal jauntily set upright on a matrix of pearlescent muscovite plates and nicely accented by smaller, twinned cassiterite crystals. This excellent piece is from the less well-known, but classic Spanish locality for cassiterite of the Penouta Mine, Galicia. Ex. Nelson Collection.
