Enhanced by a wreath of bladed, white albite crystals at its base, is a glassy and translucent crystal of multicolored elbaite tourmaline, measuring 5 x 5 x 4.5 cm. Most of the elbaite is an inky blue-black color at its core, visible with good backlighting. However, the top 1 cm or so is a much more translucent, sky-blue color. Very nice and unusual tourmaline, complete-all-around. Weighs 279 grams, mostly in tourmaline mass.
