Rarely will you get the chance to acquire a fine Hiddenite emerald, and this beauty has all the attributes to make it special even amongst others that have come out. MATRIX SPECIMENS ARE ALMOST UNHEARD OF, and I have NEVER seen even a single crystal of this apatite-like form and neon color. It is surely an older specimen! The two intergrown, tabular emeralds have superb luster, an excellent mint-green color, good clarity, and even some unusual and attractive zoning along the c axis. The contrast as it is perched upon the termination of a smoky quartz is both aesthetic and, to my knowledge, incredibly rare on emerald specimens from this locality or any other. Both crystals are contacted on the back, but this does not affect the display face and pales compared to the importance of this specimen both as a locality piece and as a competition-quality miniature of such unique aspect. The aesthetics and rarity combine to make this a "killer miniature." 4.5 x 3.1 x 2 cm
