This equant, colorful crystal has a shiny purple blue cap, and nice pink color to the prism. It is translucent to gemmy, with the blue cap being very gemmy. Opportunities to own a true Tourmaline Queen blue cap are far and few between, and the mystique around them is substantial. Many people might label this one a "Blue cap" with a capital B from the 1972 pocket. However, it is probably from later finds. The slight purple band atop indicates that fact. While not from the "famous Blue cap pocket," this is still a fine example from the mine and colorful in the case. Note the bottom is polished and rounded (for some reason). 74 grams.
