What a great small cabinet Emerald and Calcite combination piece from the historic and world premier Colombian emerald mines! A stunning, classic emerald green, Beryl var Emerald crystal stands out on the contrasty matrix composed of both milky white and translucent pale gray Calcite crystals on this impressive matrix Emerald specimen! The hexagonal Emerald crystal is 2.3 cm in length and is glassy, gemmy and perfectly terminated on one end. For added interest, the Emerald crystal is bent in two places probably by local tectonic forces during its growth and a few areas with in the crystal are gem quality! The two generations of Calcite represented by the separate white and pale gray crystals are all rhombohedral in form. This is just an exquisite and affordable Colombian Emerald specimen from the mines that have been producing for over 500 years!
